The running order

Curling

Great Britain was eliminated from gold medal contention in the Winter Olympics after a devastating 9-3 loss to Sweden in the semi-finals on Monday.

They will play Italy on Tuesday for a chance to salvage a bronze medal, but the once unbeaten pair were ultimately blindsided by their Scandinavian opponents.

The United States won the other semi-final, where they narrowly beat Italy 9-8 to progress to the final.

Jennifer Dodds and Bruce Mouat maintained a seven-game winning streak in the round robin sessions, which was disrupted by a loss to Switzerland on Sunday afternoon.

However, Great Britain responded by defeating Italy in the afternoon, a team they will have to beat again to claim Team GB’s first medal of the tournament.

Alpine Skiing – Men’s Team Combined

Switzerland won gold in the men’s team combined alpine skiing event, beating Austria and their Swiss compatriots by a considerable margin.

Austria and Switzerland shared silver after accumulating the same time across both downhill and slalom events, 0.99 seconds behind the gold medalists Franjo von Allmen and Tanguy Nef.

This was von Allmen’s second medal of the 2026 Milano Cortina Winter Olympics after winning the games’ inaugural gold, prevailing in the men’s downhill.

Italy were on top in the morning session, with Giovanni Franzoni the fastest in the downhill with a time of 1:51.80, which was 0.42 seconds faster than fourth-place von Allmen. Franzoni was second-best to the Swiss in the men’s downhill on Saturday, but compensated for his misfortune on Monday.

However, it wasn’t enough for the Italian team, who crumbled in the slalom. Alex Vinatzer could only produce a time good enough for 18th, demoting Italy to seventh.

In contrast, von Allmen’s teammate Nef produced the fastest time of 51.82 seconds, which surged Switzerland into the lead and ultimately secured Olympic gold.
